2020 Tesla Model 3 *QUALITY ISSUES* REGRETTING MY PURCHASE?!?

Quality issues have always been a sore spot for Tesla. Have things gotten better? In this video, I look over my 2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance and see the quality issues I've had.

Do you have a Tesla? I'd love to see if other owners have had similar issues.

Sorry to hear that. I don’t really get that why people still love and accept this build quality. A lot of journalists have claimed the resale value is so high because of the price of used Tesla is so high, how about “actual “ trade in value?

it is part of their businee model. The cars are buil with maximum of automation which leads to cosmetic defects. Most people dont even see them, the others get their car fixed after delivery. Huge gain of time and ressources allowing t build as much cars as possile at maximum profit. Also every review that points out those cosmetic issues, still mention how the driving experiance is great. That is enough to offset the negatives and keeps true to the saying : "there is no such hing as bad publicity". Overestimated range and impact of temperature extremes is the same story.

The build quality issue is one thing but the attitude of the buyers is another problem. Because they feel that Tesla can do no wrong and always come up with excuses there is no incentive to up the build quality. The second another manufacturer can compete with Tesla battery and software wise that will be it for Tesla.

They certainly have, however they really don't have a competitive product at this point, nor do they have the charging infrastructure. I'd also say, Tesla can only improve as they grow. I like supporting a new company, especially one that is trying to make a positive change. Thanks for the feedback!

I love everything about Tesla cars and what they have done to the car industry. I will also never ever buy one. My next car will be electric but I'd rather spend my money on a company that has been building cars for decades. At the three year mark all the Tesla models in my country rank as one of the worst when it comes to reliability. The failure mark is way too high. Here in Norther Europe the Tesla charging network isn't anything special either, and you can find other EV chargers in front of almost every supermarket/gas station.

Tesla already improved the production of Model 3 in China (go check videos), Tesla just not want to stop production of their American Model 3 assembly line cash cow to implement necessary changes because every hour this line did not produce is costing them dearly and the only reason why they are still in business is that Tesla stocks are greatly overvalued (just compare Tesla stocks with Toyota producing better quality in higher numbers), new production in Berlin likely will also have the improved quality apart from new cheaper batteries with longer life. Just America will be suffering from being a testbed for Tesla's attempt at mass production until Tesla will feel comfortable implementing production improvements as they did for new Model 3 factories. Currently, if you want high quality without the need to call for service as soon as your new shiny car arrives you are better of with the all-wheel-drive Toyota RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid SUV which I still think is a better family car than anything Tesla can offer with the current EV technology for people wanting one car capable do everything including a long-range trip across America with a caravan on holiday.

I had a '74 Plymouth Duster with a gap on the driver's door. I could have fixed it, but I just lived with it. Its just a car, its going to get dinged up anyway. Tesla will eventually improve or some people will buy a Kia or whatever. BMWs, Land Rover and Jaguar have had quality issues and they've been building cars for a long time - people keep buying these brands even as its known that they have quality issues. Try to not spend too much on depreciating assets - unless you've got a lot of money. You get a new car and a shopping cart dings it. Its just a car. I'm frugal, I won't consider any car that does not have parts from say, Rock Auto, Ebay or Amazon. R/A has almost nothing for Teslas except brake pads, light bulbs etc. That tells me you may have to depend upon the Tesla dealers as these cars age, which means that older Teslas will go to salvage when they probably could have been repaired. Cheap neglected BMWs can be DIY repaired, often for less than $500 in parts.

I definitely will , I like the 4wd and the fact its fast. Toyotas have good quality but are slow and Ford is coming out with their electric cars but I've seen the prototypes and they are slow as well as VWs electric car so I will definitely not buy one of those. Just waiting for the next generation model 3 performance before I make my move. Like I said , it's the best of all the teslas , maybe not as fast as the s but braking , especially handling are big sellers for me .

I really was thinking about buying a model 3 performance but I live where winters are shit and instead bought a Toyota rav4 AWD and after a year and a half no issues whatsoever and why I bought it as well was the fuel economy BUT IHATE giving money to the government as that's where a majority of the taxes go and our government is so in trouble with money they are going to raise taxes big time BUT I was actually hoping to trade this in for the next generation model 3 as I'm not a fan of spending money on something new with issues. I'm going to be patient and hope it works out.

Tesla should partner with General Motors for Manufacturing. I was looking at a Tesla except with all the quality issues I’ll wait. Good opinion, however I think it depends on the trim level you're looking at. If you're looking at something fast, the Tesla is going to blow the GM product out of the water. From a safety and technology point of view, I believe the Tesla is years ahead of the next manufacturer. What I will agree with though, is that GM has 112 years on Tesla in terms of making cars and their quality is going to be better (from the little things like paint, interior issues etc). I will say that I haven't had one major issue with my car. All just small cosmetic things. Definitely take the Tesla for a test drive, it might change your mind :)

Panel gaps aren't a big deal, but that misalignment shouldn't be there anymore. I think the paint is fine! This is why I don't like black cars, it's easy to pick out all the flaws with black. White is also a tri-layer paint, so it'll be a lot thicker.
